About You

We are looking for an experienced Digital Architect to support the digital transformation and modernization of processes within a public-sector environment. 

The Digital Architect will be responsible for designing scalable and sustainable digital solutions, supporting the digitalization of business processes, defining data and integration architecture, and ensuring effective interoperability between internal and external systems. 

The role will work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, software engineers, data specialists, and other technical teams to translate business and operational requirements into clear technical solutions and architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end digital solution architectures for the digitalization of organizational processes.
  • Analyze existing business processes and systems and identify opportunities for digital transformation and optimization.
  • Define technical architecture, solution components, system boundaries, interfaces, and integration approaches.
  • Design solutions for database and data management, including data structures, data flows, and information exchange.
  • Define and oversee integration with data exchange and interoperability platforms and external information systems.
  • Design and document API-based integrations and ensure secure and reliable data exchange between systems.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements and solution designs.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of Technical Requirements / Terms of Reference (ToR) for software development and technology projects.
  • Establish architectural principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency across digital solutions.
  • Assess existing and proposed technologies and recommend appropriate technical approaches.
  • Work closely with development teams during implementation to ensure that solutions are delivered in accordance with the approved architecture.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, scalability requirements, and potential integration challenges.
  • Ensure that proposed solutions consider security, data protection, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Prepare and maintain architecture documentation, technical diagrams, integration specifications, and other relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to ensure that technical solutions meet business and user needs.
  • Support technical discussions with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders when required. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software architecture, solution architecture, digital transformation, or a related technical role.
  • Strong experience designing digital solutions and system architectures.
  • Hands-on understanding of API design, system integration, data exchange, and interoperability.
  • Experience working with databases, data models, and data flows.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, distributed systems, and integration patterns.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and architecture.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing technical requirements and Terms of Reference.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern software engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of security principles, data protection, system reliability, and scalability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in public-sector digital transformation or government technology projects.
  • Experience with national or enterprise-level data exchange/interoperability platforms.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, microservices, and containerized environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and architectural governance.
  • Experience working with government information systems, registries, or centralized databases.
  • Experience with digital identity, electronic services, or other public digital infrastructure.
