Cybersecurity
Along with the development and implementation of information technologies in society and economy, challenges arise regarding the maintenance of the information systems and networks, as well as the ongoing functionality of the economy.
The cybersecurity function of the Information systems agency of Armenia aims at civilian data security and continuity of digital service protection, which is the core of digital transformation.
Our pillars are the following:
- Developing national cyber security capabilities
- Risk assessment and mitigation
- Monitoring of vital information systems
- Fast and effective response to cyber incidents
The cybersecurity team collaborates with private and public sectors, as well as educational organizations to develop human capital capable of meeting the cybersecurity challenges of the future.
The cyber security team provides support in the maintenance of networks and programs in critical infrastructure to reduce the risks of cyber threats.
Since no preventive measure can entirely eliminate risks, quick detection of threats becomes imperative. For this purpose, the Security Operations Center (SOC) was established, which monitors the critical information systems. Currently, Pilot programs are underway with several critical infrastructure organizations.
The National Computer Emergency Response Team of Armenia (AM-CERT) is also established. Its mission is to investigate and coordinate the response to cyber security incidents for the national critical infrastructure of Armenia. AM-CERT joined the TF-CSIRT (Task Force – CSIRT) in November 2023 and has been an accredited member since Jan 2024.
