About You We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the agency’s cybersecurity efforts and ensure the safety and integrity of our digital assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, risk management, and leadership in building and managing robust security infrastructures. In this role, you will develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, oversee compliance with regulatory standards, and manage a team of security professionals to prevent potential threats to the agency’s systems and data. If you are a strategic and visionary cybersecurity leader with experience managing complex security programs, we invite you to apply.  

Job responsibilities

Cybersecurity Leadership and Strategy

  • Lead the development and implementation of the agency’s information security management system (ISMS).
  • Oversee the protection of agency data, intellectual property, and technology assets from cyber threats.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with the agency’s objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks, ensuring resilience against emerging cybersecurity threats.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, 9001, and others.
  • Lead security audits, compliance assessments, incident response processes, and investigations into security breaches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the agency’s operations and IT systems.

Security Program Management and Risk Mitigation

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive security program, including cyber defense, data protection, and security operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and prioritize remediation efforts to minimize risks.
  • Oversee security incident detection, response, and recovery processes, ensuring swift mitigation of potential security breaches.
  • Manage the security architecture, tools, and technologies deployed across the agency’s IT infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, and regulatory teams to ensure adherence to Armenia’s data protection laws.
  • Monitor security metrics and report on the agency’s security posture to executive leadership.

Security Awareness and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and promote security awareness training programs for employees, fostering a culture of cybersecurity throughout the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and best practices to proactively enhance security measures.  
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Chief Information Security Officer or in a similar senior-level cybersecurity role.
  • Extensive knowledge of information security principles, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and risk management practices.
  • In-depth experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEMs, and encryption protocols.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement complex security strategies and lead teams effectively.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills at the executive level.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a sharp eye for identifying security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience managing teams of security professionals and collaborating with IT, legal, and compliance departments.
