Nerses Yeritsyan spoke about the role of AI in transforming education during the MindX Forum

Nerses Yeritsyan, Director of the Information Systems Agency of Armenia, participated in the panel discussion titled “Partnership for transforming education” organized within the framework of the MindX 2026 forum.
During the discussion, participants referred made to the role of education transformation and human capital development in the context of digital transformation, where the advancement of artificial intelligence and new technologies is reshaping labor market and education requirements.
In his speech, the Director emphasized that artificial intelligence is a powerful tool that accelerates and simplifies processes; however, the human factor and critical thinking remain essential.
According to him, it is necessary to ensure a balance between natural and artificial intelligence, using technology to serve the development of human potential rather than replace it. Addressing digital literacy, he stressed that continuous learning and awareness of risks are imperative for building a resilient society.
As a successful example, reference was made to the “Young Professionals Program” and the initiatives of TUMO Labs funded by the Agency, which equip young people in the fields of IT and cybersecurity with skills and knowledge aligned with international standards.
Concluding his remarks, N. Yeritsyan noted that fostering such partnerships between the state, private sector, and the educational-academic community will have a transformative role, contributing to the development of youth capabilities, which is vital for building an advanced economy and remaining competitive internationally.
The panel discussion was moderated by Larisa Hovhannisyan, Founder and CEO of the "Armenia Education Initiative". Speakers also included Araksia Svajyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia; Aram Hovhannisyan, Vice-Rector of the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan and member of the Union of Composers of Armenia; and Sargis Karapetyan, Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises.
MindX 2026 is a two-day international conference organized by Teach For Armenia and the Armenian Educational Foundation, aimed at rethinking education as a driver of leadership and innovation.
