Information for mass media and civil society organizations

May 18, 2026

The observations of the Information Systems Agency of Armenia (ISAA) indicate an increase in DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) cyberattacks. The purpose of DDoS attacks is to overload websites with a large volume of fake requests and disrupt their normal operation.

International experience shows that the risks of such attacks usually increase ahead of and during major public and political events, particularly electoral processes. In such situations, mass media and civil society organizations involved in electoral processes are often exposed to a high risk of being targeted.

In this regard, it is recommended to take the necessary cybersecurity measures in advance to ensure the uninterrupted operation of websites and online services.

In particular, it is recommended to use cybersecurity protection tools such as the Cloudflare Project Galileo program, which provides free cybersecurity protection tools and thereby enhances the cybersecurity level and resilience of websites against attacks (for more details, you can visit: https://www.cloudflare.com/galileo/).
