About You

The Judicial Legal & Process Expert will provide legal, procedural, and compliance expertise to support the digital transformation of court processes and court data. The role will ensure that digital solutions, data classifications, workflows, and system requirements are aligned with applicable procedural law and legal requirements. 

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of court procedures, legal processes, records management, and regulatory requirements, combined with the ability to translate legal requirements into clear business and system requirements. 

You should be comfortable working closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, technical teams, and external vendorsidentifying legal constraints, validating system designs and data mappings, and ensuring that digital workflows preserve legal validity and appropriate controls. 

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex legal and technical concepts are essential for this role. 

Responsibilities

  • Serves as domain and compliance authority.
  • Advises on court data classifications across all court types (public vs. restricted, sealed/expunged records).
  • Defines as-is/to-be processes, requirements, use cases, and validation criteria.
  • Identifies bottlenecks and legal constraints in the digital transformation of processes, and suggests solutions to address them.
  • Ensures procedural-law alignment, legal validity, and proper controls for records, signatures, assignment, and digital workflows.
  • Validates legal accuracy of data mapping (charges, dispositions, case types, and other court-specific classifications). 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related legal field. 
  • Proven professional experience as a Legal Expert, Legal Advisor, Compliance Specialist, Court Legal Specialist, or in a similar role. 
  • Strong knowledge of procedural law and court processes
  • Experience working with court records, case management, legal documentation, or judicial processes
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to records, data classification, access, confidentiality, and digital workflows
  • Ability to analyse complex legal requirements and translate them into clear processes, requirements, use cases, and validation criteria
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when reviewing legal classifications, data mappings, and procedural requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with legal, business, technical, and external vendor teams
  • Ability to identify legal risks and constraints and propose practical solutions. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.  

Desirable 

  • Experience working on government, public-sector, judicial, or court digital transformation projects
  • Experience with court case management systems or digital justice platforms
  • Knowledge of electronic signatures, digital records, document management, and electronic workflows
  • Experience defining or validating data models, data classifications, or data mappings
  • Familiarity with BPMN, UML, process modelling, or requirements analysis
  • Experience working with technology vendors or multidisciplinary digital transformation teams
  • Understanding of data protection and privacy requirements relevant to judicial or government data.
