About You

As a System and Network Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing the Agency’s IT infrastructure. You will ensure that servers, networks, storage systems, and virtual environments operate efficiently, securely, and reliably to support Armenia’s digital transformation.

In this role, you will work directly with the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) project, supporting its system infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and maintaining secure and stable operations across all related environments.

Job Responsibilities

Hardware & System Administration

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain physical servers and network equipment (HP, Dell, Cisco, Sophos, Juniper).
  • Administer Windows Server (2019+) and Linux-based systems, performing troubleshooting and regular maintenance.
  • Conduct firmware updates and hardware maintenance for storage devices and blade servers.

Storage & Data Protection

  • Manage SAN/NAS storage infrastructure, monitor performance, and plan for capacity expansion.
  • Implement and manage data backup, disaster recovery, and replication strategies.
  • Analyze system efficiency and recommend improvements for performance and reliability.

Networking & Switching

  • Configure VLANs and manage Layer 2/3 switching infrastructure.
  • Administer Cisco, HP, and Juniper switches, optimizing network segmentation and traffic flow.

Firewall & Security

  • Manage Sophos firewall systems, including rule creation and policy enforcement.
  • Administer and monitor VPNs (IPSec, SSL, L2TP) for secure remote access.
  • Manage SSL certificates (IIS, Apache, NGINX) and enforce secure communication protocols.

Virtualization & Hosting

  • Administer Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including VM creation, replication, and performance tuning.
  • Integrate with Windows Failover Clustering and manage via SCVMM.
  • Manage shared and dedicated Linux/Windows hosting environments, including DNS, FTP, and web servers.

Email & Directory Services

  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Exchange Servers, including DAGs and hybrid deployments.
  • Configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC policies; manage spam and filtering rules.
  • Manage on-premises and hybrid Active Directory environments using ADUC, GPMC, PowerShell, and ADAC.

Database Support

  • Install and configure databases, manage backups, recovery, and performance.
  • Handle database migrations, data imports/exports, and enforce user security protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in system/network administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-level networking and firewall configuration.
  • Solid knowledge of virtualization, storage management, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and database administration.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluency in Armenian and English (written and spoken).
