The next stop of the cybersecurity awareness campaign: Gyumri
December 02, 2025
On November 28, the next meeting of the cybersecurity awareness campaign took place at the Gyumri branch of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies. The event brought together around 150 students from TUMO Boxes in Gyumri and neighboring communities.
The meeting opened in an interactive format: through a dedicated platform, students answered questions related to cybersecurity, cyberattacks, and online risks, allowing for an assessment of their level of awareness.
Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan presented current cybersecurity challenges, the culture of data protection, potential risks and advantages of artificial intelligence applications, the impact of deepfakes, and tools for combating misinformation. He also emphasized the importance of developing digital skills, viewing them as an essential component of modern education and security.
Next, informational materials and presentations prepared by experts from HTI AM-CERT (national computer emergency response team) were introduced, covering cyber hygiene and safe online behavior. Interactive discussions and games were also held.
One of the most engaging parts of the meeting was the Q&A session. Students raised questions about the most common cyberattacks and threats, and cybersecurity expert Samvel Martirosyan responded to each with clear and in-depth explanations, illustrating how to properly react in such situations.
Within the framework of the awareness campaign, examples of the positive use of AI tools in the education system were also presented. Participants explored how to manage cybersecurity risks associated with these tools and how artificial intelligence can be used to create educational materials, making learning more interactive and effective.
The cybersecurity awareness campaign aims to foster safer, more informed, and responsible online behavior among both students and adults. The program plans to conduct more than 20 regional sessions in public schools, as well as in COAF and TUMO centers and at FabLab Dilijan.
The initiative is implemented by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia and the Information systems agency of Armenia.
