Armenia’s digital ID solution

Yesem Application on PC and on mobile

The background to ‘YesEm’

YesEm (meaning ’It’s me’) is the single ‘digital identity’ solution for Armenian e-services delivered by both the public and private sector. Upon completion of the implementation plan, the identity solution will encompass 3 methods of secure ID verification and electronic signature:

  • Using a card reader & chip based ID card
  • Using any mobile phone with sim card/e-sim card
  • Using a smartphone with the digital ID app

Users can securely log-in and provide their identity using any of the above methods, via the single sign in page ‘YesEm’ login. The ‘YesEm’ e-signature portal will also provide secure signing of digital documents and data extracts via both an easy to use web application, and a back-end API version for seamless integration with digital service providers’ platforms. The solution will be designed to meet the European eIDAS 2.0 standard, ensuring the highest levels of security and future-proof interoperability with international partners.

Benefits to be achieved

Secure digital ID will enable the mass adoption of e-services in both government and private sector, opening the door to new and exciting use cases for the future of Armenia’s e-society and e-economy.

  • The eIDAS 2.0 standards will ensure reduction in fraud and establish international standards of ID verification – paving the way for cross border digital ID and signature recognition
  • Secure ID verification will enable interoperability of state databases, ensuring the ‘once only’ principle is applied, users will only need to provide information once.

Multiple log-ins, passwords and other security information will be combined into one single solution, increasing convenience overall.
